It's not as glaring in this magnificent event, but I marvel at how she sings the word Madness at 5:15. Patti, in that single moment, vividly displays how mad Norma truly was.

Hand me the wine and the dice in London was awful!! The tour with david Essex ( not that i saw him ! Thankfully) the touring production was so much better!

So lucky there are clips of her performance, we never got to see in the States.

This made me want to go hear Betty Buckley who is STILL is the queen of this performance. NONE other. Love Patti...but she is so much more suited to EVITA than this role in my opinion.

I’m a Patti Superfan, but Betty Buckley chews up this song and spits it out. She’s also a more believable Norma - but I do love everything Patti does.

She’d good, I saw her in London, but then I saw BETTY BUCKLEY. And since then I’ve six seven Norma’s. Betty IS Norma IMHO.

This is quite possibly one of, if not the, greatest score ever written. It literally has everything and there are few that thrills and gives chills like Yeston’s score for Nine. This is by far the definitive recording of this masterpiece and I can’t thank you enough for posting these videos - your channel is fantastic!

There were still stars to see then. So grateful for that Broadway era, now gone.

Lupone is one of the greatest interpreters of Lloyd-Webber's music. All I have to say is Evita. I think she would be well cast for Rose in Aspects of Love.

I would love to hear her perform this now when she seems more relaxed.
